#i4Policy is inviting the public to the official launch in Kigali. On Wednesday, May 10th from 6:30-9:00pm we will present policy recommendations created by innovation hubs across Africa to the general public.
Under the #i4Policy banner, we have gathered recommendations and examples from innovation communities across Africa with the aim of sharing them with policy makers. The resulting communiqué offers suggestions based on the experience of entrepreneurs and innovators from across the continent. These recommendations have the goal of laying a strong foundation for innovation and entrepreneurship, thus accelerating digital transformation and, ultimately, contributing to equitable and sustainable development of our economies and societies. The communiqué we created aims at acting as a bridge between the innovation community and the policymaking community to work together to drive digital transformation.
On Wednesday, May 10th, 2017 we are inviting the public to hear our policy recommendations and get involved in the dialogue at the project’s official launch. Innovators and hub representatives like James Odede from Lakehub, George Appiah from Kumasi Hive, Sheilah Birgen from iHub Nairobi, Sénamé Koffi from Woe Lab, Aretha Mare from Impact Hub Harare, blogger Ruth Aine and policy advocate Nanjira Sambuli of the Web Foundation will be among the facilitators and participants. From 18:30 we will introduce the communique, have a Q&A with the audience and talk about our experiences at The Office in Kiyovu. An additional highlight is a fireside chat with American legal scholar and activist Lawrence Lessig about political engagement work globally.
